The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of a shooting range, supervising all activities, enforcing safety rules, and providing instruction on firearm handling as well as assisting in the operations of a retail gun store. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to promoting safety standards across the organization. The Safety Officer will play a crucial role in identifying potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, and providing training to customers.
Responsibilities Supervision and Enforcement:
Constantly monitor the range, ensuring all shooters adhere to safety rules and procedures. This includes enforcing range rules, addressing safety concerns, and correcting unsafe practices.
Safety Briefings:
Conduct comprehensive safety briefings for new and experienced shooters, covering range rules, procedures, and emergency protocols.
Firearm Handling and Malfunctions:
Assist shooters with firearm stoppages, malfunctions, and proper handling techniques.
Range Maintenance:
Ensure the range is clean, organized, and safe for use, including inspections and minor repairs.
Emergency Procedures:
Lead or assist in emergency situations, such as injuries or safety violations.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and ensure a positive experience for all range users. Qualifications Experience in the firearms industry or a directly related field desired but not necessary. Strong POS experience. Strong public relations and communication skills. Basic knowledge and principles of firearms (pistols, rifles, and shotguns) and the shooting industry. Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. Naturally friendly and positive daily attitude. Highly self motivated/able to work without direction. Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
