is seeking a professional, responsible, and safety-focused Armed School Security Guard to help protect students, teachers, staff, visitors, and school property. The School Security Guard will maintain a visible security presence on campus, monitor entrances and school grounds, respond to security concerns, support emergency procedures, and help maintain a safe and welcoming educational environment. Responsibilities Protect students, teachers, school employees, visitors, and school property . Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the school campus. Monitor school entrances, exits, hallways, common areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations. Conduct regular security patrols of the school grounds and facilities. Monitor CCTV cameras, alarms, access-control systems, and other security equipment when assigned. Monitor and control access to the school in accordance with school procedures. Verify authorized visitors and direct visitors to appropriate areas when required. Observe and report suspicious, unauthorized, or unsafe activity. Respond professionally to security incidents, disturbances, alarms, and emergencies. Use communication and de-escalation techniques to resolve situations whenever appropriate. Assist school staff with maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Contact law enforcement, fire, EMS, or other emergency services when necessary. Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident reports. Follow the school's emergency response procedures and security protocols. Assist with emergency evacuations, lockdowns, shelter-in-place procedures, and other emergency situations as directed. Communicate security concerns promptly to school administration and designated supervisors. Cooperate with school administrators, emergency personnel, and law enforcement when appropriate. Safely carry and handle an authorized firearm in accordance with applicable Ohio law, required licensing and training, company policy, and school post orders. Qualifications & Skills Properly licensed/registered and qualified to perform armed security duties in Ohio . Required firearms training and qualification for the position. Previous school security, security, military, or law-enforcement experience preferred. Strong observation and situational-awareness skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prepare clear and accurate incident reports. Strong conflict-management and de-escalation abilities. Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies.
