Valid Driver's License | Must Be 21 Years of Age or Older Position Summary We are seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Security Shift Lead to support security operations at one of Houston's premier cultural, food, retail, and entertainment destinations located in the heart of Downtown Houston. This unique property attracts thousands of visitors, guests, employees, vendors, and tenants each week, creating a dynamic environment where security, hospitality, and leadership are equally important. The Security Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing assigned Security Officers, maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively supervise personnel, respond to incidents, interact professionally with the public, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision Provide direct supervision and guidance to Security Officers during assigned shifts. Conduct shift briefings and communicate daily objectives, assignments, and operational updates. Monitor officer performance and ensure all post orders, policies, and procedures are followed. Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and strong customer service. Assist with coaching, training, and development of security personnel. Security Operations Monitor and patrol interior and exterior areas to ensure the safety of visitors, tenants, employees, and guests. Oversee access control procedures and maintain awareness of activity throughout the property. Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and security concerns. Conduct routine inspections and security checks throughout the facility. Complete incident reports, activity logs, and other required documentation accurately and professionally. Assist with crowd management during peak business hours, special events, and public gatherings. Customer Service Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, tenants, and vendors. Serve as a visible and approachable security presence. Address questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and respectfully. Help create a welcoming environment while maintaining security standards. Communication & Coordination Act as the primary point of contact for on-duty officers during assigned shifts. Communicate effectively with management, property personnel, contractors, and emergency responders. Ensure important information and operational updates are relayed accurately to team members. Minimum Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older . Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. High School Diploma or GED. Previous security, hospitality, customer service, retail, venue, or public-facing experience. Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to complete required reports and documentation. Ability to successfully complete all required background screening and training requirements. Reliable attendance and dependable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Security experience in mixed-use developments, entertainment venues, shopping districts, hotels, or public spaces. Experience supervising security personnel. Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV monitoring, and incident response procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to patrol large indoor and outdoor areas. Ability to navigate stairs, walkways, plazas, and public gathering spaces.
