The Gin Mill is looking for a dependable, professional, and confident individual to join our team as a bouncer! Position Summary The bouncer is responsible for helping maintain a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment for our guests and staff. This position requires strong communication skills, good judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and respectful in challenging situations. Responsibilities Monitor the entrance and overall activity within the establishment Check IDs and verify guests meet applicable age requirements Monitor guest behavior and identify potential safety concerns Maintain a visible security presence throughout the bar Address disruptive behavior calmly, professionally, and appropriately De-escalate conflicts and help prevent situations from becoming unsafe Assist management and bartenders with handling difficult situations Enforce house rules and policies consistently Monitor capacity and help control guest flow when necessary Assist with safely removing guests when directed by other staff members and when permitted by law Respond appropriately to emergencies and contact emergency services when necessary Complete opening, closing, and security-related duties as assigned Maintain professionalism and treat all guests with respect Work as part of a team with bartenders, management, and other staff Qualifications Previous security, bouncer, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred Must meet all applicable legal requirements for the position Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to remain calm and professional under pressure Good judgment and decision-making skills Reliable, punctual, and responsible Physically capable of standing and moving around for extended periods Comfortable working in a busy, loud, and fast-paced environment Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can keep the environment safe without creating unnecessary conflict.
