AGES 15-20 ONLY
- Position Summary California Decoy LLC is seeking dependable and responsible individuals between the ages of 15 and 20 to serve as Decoys in tobacco compliance operations throughout California.
- Participate in tobacco retailer compliance operations under the supervision of state or local investigators.
- Follow all instructions provided by investigators and California Decoy LLC staff.
- Attempt to purchase tobacco products at assigned retail locations as directed by the investigator.
- Conduct oneself professionally, respectfully, and ethically at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding compliance operations, locations, and investigative activities.
- Accurately complete all required employment and operational paperwork.
- Maintain regular communication with program staff regarding availability, scheduling, and updated contact information.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Minimum Qualifications
- Must be between 15 and 20 years of age at the time of employment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must provide the required documentation to complete the employment eligibility verification process.
- Minors must obtain a valid work permit before beginning employment.
- Must have strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and professional.
- Must be comfortable entering retail establishments and interacting with store employees.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding compliance operations. Transportation
- Decoys are not responsible for driving themselves between retail locations during compliance operations. Investigators provide transportation throughout the scheduled operation.
- Decoys are responsible for arriving at the designated meeting or pickup location at the scheduled time.
- Comfortable interacting with adults in a professional setting.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during compliance operations.
- Flexible availability.
- Willingness to participate in assignments outside of the employee's immediate community.
- Ability to listen carefully and follow investigator instructions.
- Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles and retail establishments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with investigators, program staff, and retail employees.
- Ability to participate in operations that may involve travel throughout the assigned region. Work Schedule
- Part-time and on-call.
- Hours vary based on operational needs and investigator availability.
- There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours.
- Operations may occur on weekdays, evenings, or weekends.
- Employees may accept or decline assignments based on their availability. Compensation
- $40.00 per hour while participating in scheduled compliance operations.
- $50.00 upon successful completion of the hiring and onboarding process.
- A meal may be provided during qualifying compliance operations.
- Letters of recommendation may be provided to employees who demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and satisfactory performance.
