Printer for the People's Messenger, but also Chair of the Property Owners' Association. His conflicting interests make him a cautious man.

CAPTAIN HORSTER

A ship's captain who doesn't involve himself with matters of politics when at home. A man of few words. Infatuated with Petra, but very shy.

MORTEN KIIL

Thomas's father-in-law, owner of a tannery. Sneaky and suspicious of others, ruthless. A skeptic who doesn't believe in anything he can't see. "The Cottage" A romantic and (not quite) murderous comedy of manners, in the style of Noel Coward with a feminist twist.
