Job DescriptionBoone Power is seeking a Lead Lineworker to oversee and perform the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution systems. This role leads crews in daily operations, ensures safety compliance, and supports outage restoration efforts.

The ideal candidate is a skilled Journeyman Lineworker with strong leadership abilities, a commitment to safety, and experience working on energized and de-energized systems.

This position plays a critical leadership role in daily field operations, outage response, and system reliability while coordinating closely with internal departments and external stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Crew OversightDirect, train, and oversee Lineworkers and Apprentice LineworkersEnsure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Boone REMC standardsConduct daily job briefings and debriefings to ensure safety, preparedness, and completion of workVerify accuracy of completed work, records, and reportsLine Construction & MaintenanceLead and perform construction, removal, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution systems Install and remove poles, conductors, transformers, regulators, capacitor banks, and associated equipment Perform splicing, terminating, and installation of underground and overhead primary and secondary systems Operate and maintain equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other construction tools System Operations & TroubleshootingPatrol and inspect lines, identifying and resolving system issuesTroubleshoot voltage issues, outages, and equipment failuresInstall, inspect, and maintain protective devices such as reclosers, switches, and fusesPerform substation inspections and maintenance activitiesSafety & ComplianceEnsure proper use, care, and inspection of PPE and safety equipmentFollow all company safety rules, procedures, and regulatory requirementsParticipate in safety meetings and maintain certifications (CPR, rescue, etc.)Promote a strong safety culture within the crewEquipment & Worksite ManagementOversee maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of trucks, tools, and work areasEnsure proper material handling, stocking, and return of unused or retired materialsMaintain readiness of all assigned equipment and technology devicesOperations Support & CoordinationSupport outage restoration efforts, including after-hours and on-call dutiesCoordinate with Engineering, Metering, IT, and other departments on field operationsCommunicate with members, contractors, and external stakeholders regarding service work and outagesAssist with service connections, meter work, and system improvements
