Lead Preschool Teacher - All Around Kids Community Preschool Full-Time | $18-$23/hr DOE | Starts June 2026 28-30 hours/week | Monday-Thursday, occasional evenings/weekends Healthy U is seeking a passionate and skilled Lead Preschool Teacher to join our program, All Around Kids Community Preschool , located in beautiful Cave Junction, Oregon. This is not just "a job" — it's an opportunity to gain skills as a teacher as you help shape a nurturing, inclusive, and joyful environment for children and families in the Illinois Valley. This position begins in August 2026, although the perfect candidate would be available to come in June and begin training with the current teaching team. This role includes some light administrative responsibilities in addition to classroom leadership. Position Details:

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday, 26-30 hours/week, between 8:00am-6:00pm

Pay:

$18-23/hour, depending on experience Closed during July (unpaid summer break) Occasional evening or weekend events (family gatherings, community events, trainings)

What You'll Do:

Lead a mixed-age classroom (ages 3-5) using child-led, play-based, and trauma-informed approaches Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with the assistant teacher and substitutes Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families Coordinate curriculum planning, documentation, and classroom preparation Support school-wide goals and lead portions of weekly staff meetings Assist with administrative tasks such as enrollment, licensing documentation, and scheduling Ensure health, safety, and joyful engagement in both indoor and outdoor environments Participate in occasional Healthy U events and community outreach efforts

What We're Looking For:

Experience teaching young children in a group setting (preschool or similar) Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills A passion for inclusive, child-centered education Comfort with (or willingness to learn about) Conscious Discipline and emergent curriculum A degree or certification in early childhood education or a related field is highly preferred

Required:

Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent Current with the Central Background Registry OR able to pass Oregon's Early Learning background check system upon hire Current First Aid/CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain) Oregon Food Handler's Card within 15 days of hire Why Join Us?
