Lee Elementary Lead Cook / Server
Terms of Employment:
Support Staff Classification Monday•Friday 7:30 a.m.•2:45 p.m. Student days only
Job Summary:
To work together with the cafeteria helper in preparation and serving of quality food to students and staff, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of Lee Elementary. Must bring a positive attitude, and have the ability to work as a team in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
Job Requirements:
1. High school diploma. 2. ServSafe Certification or willingness to acquire ServSafe Certification 3. Training in, or willingness to train in Federal Reimbursable Meal Patterns, HACCP patterns, and other required trainings assigned by the Food Service Director and Thornapple Kellogg Schools. 4. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Prepare quality foods to be served for breakfast and lunch, with an understanding of School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program Meal Patterns. 2. Assist with dishes and general clean-up of dish area and other work areas as needed. 3. Ability to run register. Use POS system to deduct breakfast and lunches from accounts, and make student and staff deposits. 4. Sweep and mop floors. 5. Ability to work in and contribute to a team-based environment. 6. Complete daily production records for foods prepared. 7. Place necessary food and beverage orders. 8. Fill orders as needed. 9. Follow and enforce all safety and sanitation requirements daily. 10. Clean and sanitize equipment daily and at end of the school year, as well as complete year-end inventory. 11. Ability to fill in for other positions if needed. 12. Reports to, and is responsible for any other related duties or jobs assigned by the Food Service Director.
