Trucking Dispatcher

Overview Join our dynamic logistics team as a Trucking Dispatcher, where you will play a vital role in coordinating freight movement and ensuring seamless transportation operations. As a key communicator between drivers, carriers, and clients, you will drive operational success through proactive dispatching and meticulous data management. Duties Coordinate daily dispatching of freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Assign loads to drivers based on GPS and GIS data to optimize routes and improve delivery times. Monitor fleet movements via GPS and telematics tools, adjusting schedules as needed to meet delivery deadlines. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams through multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette. Manage shipping & receiving schedules, track freight status, and update data entry logs accurately in AS400 and other logistics platforms. Collaborate with the supply chain team to plan transportation routes, analyze logistics data, and resolve issues related to freight or delays. Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and shipment documentation to support compliance and reporting requirements. Skills Strong understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation management systems for efficient route planning. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly over multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Proficiency in data entry, analysis skills, and familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 platforms. Knowledge of freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) coordination. Ability to perform transportation planning by analyzing supply chain data to enhance logistics efficiency. Strong typing skills combined with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping in transportation management systems.
