Mansfield, Texas Position Summary We are looking for a vigilant, responsible, and energetic Lifeguard to join our summer youth program. The primary responsibility of the Lifeguard is to ensure the safety of all campers and staff by preventing and responding to emergencies in and around the aquatic facility. Beyond safety, you will play a key role in creating a fun, positive, and encouraging environment for children as they develop their swimming skills and water confidence.

Key Responsibilities Safety & Surveillance:

Maintain constant, proactive supervision of the pool area to prevent accidents; identify and assist swimmers in distress.

Emergency Response:

Act immediately and appropriately in the event of an emergency, providing necessary First Aid, CPR, or water rescue as trained.

Policy Enforcement:

Clearly and kindly communicate pool rules to campers and staff, ensuring consistent adherence to safety standards.

Facility Maintenance:

Perform daily safety checks, monitor pool chemistry, and ensure the pool deck and locker rooms are clean and free of hazards.

Positive Engagement:

Foster a "nature-first" and high-energy atmosphere that encourages kids to participate safely in water-based play.

Collaboration:

Work closely with Camp Counselors to manage group transitions and maintain organized swimming schedules.

Qualifications & Skills Certifications:

Must hold current Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications (Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent).

Age Requirement:

Minimum of 16 years of age (18+ preferred for some shifts).

Vigilance:

Ability to maintain focus for extended periods in an outdoor/active environment.

Communication:

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage groups of children and speak effectively with parents and staff.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs if necessary for rescues.

Late May to early

August Hours:

Typical shifts fall between Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM All candidates must pass a background check prior to employment. If you have a valid lifeguard certification and would like to be part of our camp program this could be the perfect summer job offering up to 35 hours per week.
