Job Description

The Preserve culinary team at Double Barrel Steak is looking for an experienced Line Cook who wants to cook for an elevated dining experience. As part of our luxury sporting resort, our Double Barrel Steak showcases modern American steakhouse-inspired cuisine crafted by a world-renowned chef. In addition to our steak and seafood, we create unique dining experiences in our Hobbit House village. As a line cook, you will be part of a team of chefs creating elevated dishes for both our resort guests and the local community. Create amazing meals for memorable stays and celebration dinners. What you will be doing as a line cook:
Food Preparation:
Prepare ingredients for dishes, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Cooking:
Cook dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards, using various kitchen equipment like grills, fryers, ovens, and stoves.
Plating and Presentation:
Ensure dishes are plated attractively and ready for service.
Quality Control:
Ensure food is prepared with consistency, following the correct recipes and portion sizes.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Keep workstations clean and sanitized. Follow proper safety protocols for handling food, knives, and equipment.
Coordination:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service, including following the ticket order system and managing multiple orders at once.
Stock Management:
Help with restocking ingredients and supplies, as well as maintaining inventory levels.
Time Management:
Work efficiently to ensure food is prepared in a timely manner, especially during busy hours.
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning equipment, and ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
What you bring:
Strong cooking skills, particularly with a variety of commercial kitchen equipment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Ability to follow recipes and execute orders precisely. Teamwork and communication skills to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to stay organized and manage time well under pressure. Weekend availability is required.
Education and Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years line cook experience or a recent culinary school graduate. Fine dining experience preferred Strong cooking skills, particularly with a variety of kitchen equipment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Ability to follow recipes and execute orders precisely. Teamwork and communication skills to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to stay organized and manage time well under pressure.
