Job Description

The Wilmington, Delaware office of Kaufman Dolowich LLP, recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the "Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms," is continuing its strategic growth and seeking a motivated Business Litigation Associate to join our expanding Delaware team. Practice Exposure Our Delaware office handles a broad range of sophisticated business and civil litigation matters, including: Directors & Officers (D&O) liability Insurance coverage litigation Employment law disputes Professional malpractice defense Civil rights litigation Real estate disputes Commercial and contract litigation Complex business disputes This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys variety, wants significant courtroom and litigation exposure, and is eager to work on challenging, high-value matters across multiple practice areas. Responsibilities Assist with all phases of complex civil litigation from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy Manage and coordinate discovery, including e-discovery Participate in depositions, court appearances, mediations, and hearings Work collaboratively with partners and clients on litigation strategy Handle sensitive and high-exposure matters with professionalism and attention to detail Qualifications J.D. degree with strong academic credentials Minimum of 3 years of primarily defense civil litigation experience Admission to the Delaware Bar required Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Experience handling discovery and e-discovery processes Comfortable with courtroom appearances and witness depositions Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering excellent client service Writing sample required Law school transcripts required for candidates who graduated within the last five years Preferred Qualifications Admission to the Maryland and/or Washington D.C. Bar is a plus Willingness to seek admission in additional jurisdictions preferred MBA or business-related degree is a plus Commercial bankruptcy experience is a plus Prior experience with billable time management or willingness to develop those skills Why KD?
