Lock-Psych Certified Nursing Assistant

Position Summary Provides basic patient care to incarcerated individuals in a secure county jail setting. Works under the direction of licensed nursing staff while following Florida regulations, facility policies, and security procedures. Key Responsibilities Assist inmates with daily care needs (hygiene, dressing, feeding, mobility). Take and record vital signs and report concerns to nursing staff. Observe and report changes in physical or mental condition. Assist nurses during exams, treatments, and intake screenings. Maintain accurate documentation in medical records. Clean and stock medical areas and equipment. Follow infection control and safety procedures. Assist with patient movement under supervision and with custody staff present. Respond to emergencies with CPR/first aid until licensed staff arrive. Follow all jail security rules and maintain professional boundaries. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Active Florida CNA certification (in good standing). Current BLS/CPR certification. Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening (required for correctional facilities in Alabama.) Preferred Experience 1 year of correctional experience minimum 1 year of lock-psych experience minimum Familiarity with mental health and substance use conditions. Skills Strong observation and communication skills. Ability to stay calm in stressful or emergency situations. Ability to follow directions and maintain safety in a secure environment. Work Environment Secure jail setting with constant security presence. Exposure to potentially combative individuals and infectious diseases. Requires standing, walking, and assisting with patient movement. Physical Requirements Lift or assist up to 50 lbs. Stand and walk for extended periods. Compliance Follow all Florida laws, facility policies, and HIPAA requirements. Maintain required certifications and training.

Pay:

$22.00 - $23.00 per hour
