Job Description
Position Summary The Customer Sales Specialist is responsible for creating a book of business and creating new customer sales for the brokerage division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify targets and establish points of contact as well as building, maintaining and strengthening those relationships.
- Build a portfolio of business.
- Provide exemplary customer service.
- Oversee customer operations on accounts.
- Price business.
- Track and report on sales activity and maintain referral sources profiles.
- Create opportunity for relationship building by identifying new leads and contacts.
- Create and use a customer lead list targeting growth accounts.
- Build higher level customer relations to gain business.
- Cover shipments as necessary.
- Review customer accounts receivable (AR) and ensure payment is made.
- Actively work to achieve and exceed quarterly and yearly goals including quotas, referral metrics and sales goals.
- Collaborate with Sales Manager regarding sales strategies.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Job Requirements Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Minimum 1-3 years of sales experience

- Sales experience

- Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills
- Proven ability to work independently
- Demonstrated skill to see a project to completion
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to act as a team player and get involved in all aspects of the business function Language Skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
- Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Work Environment:
- The position typically operates in a standard office environment.
- This position routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, file cabinets, and fax machines.
