We are currently seeking a Logistics Team Leader. This is a newly created position. Responsibilities may evolve as the role is established and operational needs develop. This is an onsite position based at our Ferndale, WA facility, with a schedule of Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Pay Range:
$21.13 - $24.13 per hour The pay range listed represents the full wage range for this position. Actual starting pay will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Employment with Barlean's is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check as part of our standard hiring process. This position requires applicants to be 18 years of age or older. Other positions with Barlean's may be available to applicants under 18. What will you do? In this role you will lead and coordinate daily logistics activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer needs. You will provide day-to-day direction to team members, supports workflow, and promotes continuous improvement within the department. Requirements Support compliance with all GMPs, GDPs, Barlean's SOPs, and SQF requirements Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the department Coach, mentor, and train employees on day-to-day logistics and material handling activities Coordinate closely with Operations to support the continuous flow of materials and finished goods Cover workload for absent team members as needed Verify incoming materials meet purchase order and specification requirements Quarantine and release materials and product in accordance with established QA procedures Ensure all materials are clearly labeled and stored in designated locations Coordinate scheduling of incoming packaging material deliveries to maintain sufficient inventory levels and prevent operational downtime Monitor outbound shipments to ensure customer specific requirements are met Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with material storage and safety standards Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Working knowledge of warehouse operations, including FIFO and inventory control processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Ability to coach, mentor, and train team members in daily work activities Ability to organize tasks, prioritize workload, and manage time effectively Ability to apply problem solving skills to identify issues and recommend solutions Ability to provide day to day work direction and demonstrate leadership in a team environment Ability to consistently follow and promote safe work practices
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required Forklift operation experience required Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment required Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred Prior experience with 5S and Lean manufacturing principles preferred Valid driver's license required
