Lumber Yard Worker

Position Summary Yard Team Members work closely as a team to ensure the lumber yard is successful and efficient in fulfilling customer orders. Primary responsibilities will include customer service, lumber handling, equipment operation, inventory management, and safety compliance. Position Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Provide information about lumber products, pricing, and availability
• Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction
• Read and interpret sales tickets
• Safely load and unload lumber materials onto trucks and customer vehicles
• Safely unload lumber materials from vendor trucks
• Sort, stack and organize lumber products in designated areas
• Perform quality checks to ensure lumber is in good condition
• Operator forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment in compliance with safety regulations
• Maintain and perform equipment inspections
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels
• Adhere to safety protocols use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately
• Help with daily cleaning to include but not limited to, sweeping, dusting, sanitizing, and organizing
• Work closely with other team members to accomplish daily tasks efficiently
• Assist in training of new employees as needed
• Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications
• Strong teamwork
• Communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Safety conscious with a focus on following safety guidelines and procedures
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic math skills
• Previous forklift experience is preferred but not required (training is available)

From $13.00 per hour
