•. This position plays a vital role in supporting the ongoing staff development and educational needs of the facility. Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator III, the Training Technician III serves as the sole member of the Learning and Development Team. In this capacity, the Technician contributes to the implementation of the Department's long-term goals and vision while meeting the current and emerging training needs of the Wrentham Developmental Center. Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
- Deliver and support training for employees, assist with registration, tracking and documentation of required trainings.
- Develop and deliver trainings, workshops, and conferences tailored to educational and developmental needs of the facility staff, families and individuals.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for all training initiatives, ensuring that training content is consistent with current DDS practices, regulations, and policies.
- Create and adapt professional development materials and resources including in person, online and hybrid formats.
- Collaborate with local and statewide DDS training teams, other agency staff, and stakeholders to address and advance staff development needs.
- Conduct new hire orientation and training classes, ensuring all mandated trainings are completed.
- Provide support and technical assistance for online training platforms, such as DDS Learning, MassAchieve, and others.
- Chair monthly training committee meetings and facilitate group discussions to gather feedback and guide training program improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct training needs assessments, collect __ and evaluate feedback, and develop or revise curriculum.
- Ability to assess training needs across a variety of audiences, including facility staff, provider staff, family members, and individuals.
- Proficient in utilizing appropriate presentation tools and equipment to effectively deliver training programs.
- Solid understanding of adult learning theory and motivational techniques applicable to training and development.
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond to multiple demands efficiently and accurately.
- Thoroughness, independence, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient usage of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT.
This is a Civil Service position. If there is no Civil Service list for this title, employees appointed must take and pass the next Civil Service examination when administered. First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have (A) at least four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in teaching, instructing or training work which included the planning, development or implementation of educational or employee training programs as a major duty, (B) of which at least one year must have been in an administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in education may be substituted for maximum of two years of the required (A) experience. II. A Graduate degree with a major in education may be substituted for three years of the required (A) experience.
NOTE:
- Educational substitutions will only be permitted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience. No substitutions will be permitted for the required (B) experience.
- Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the based of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
