Job Title:

Machine Operator Job Description This role involves operating and supporting CNC machines in a machine job shop environment. You will help set up, load, and unload machines, measure and clean parts, and ensure that equipment and materials run safely and efficiently while producing a variety of parts for different customers on a daily basis. Responsibilities Operate and monitor CNC machines in a machine job shop environment. Set up machines according to job specifications, including selecting and installing appropriate tools and fixtures. Load and unload parts and materials into and from machines in a safe and efficient manner. Measure parts using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and ensure product quality. Clean parts and work areas to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment. Check that machines function properly, identify basic issues, and assist with troubleshooting when needed. Read and interpret blueprints or work instructions to produce parts that meet customer requirements. Handle a variety of parts for multiple customers and adapt to changing job requirements throughout the day. Use hand tools and power tools as needed for assembly, adjustments, and general mechanical tasks. Follow all safety procedures and quality standards while working on or around machinery. Essential Skills Experience or strong interest in machine operation in a manufacturing or shop environment. Mechanical aptitude, including comfort working with hand tools and power tools. Ability to operate and support CNC machines, particularly Mazak equipment, or willingness to learn. Proficiency using measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to check part quality. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or basic technical drawings. Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and address simple machine or process issues. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to work safely around machinery and follow established procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
