Manufacturing Full Job Description Position Overview:
OCH is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining woodworking machinery to produce high-quality cabinet components while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety standards are consistently met.Key Responsibilities:
- Operate production machinery such as CNC routers, panel saws, edge banders, dowel machines, and other shop equipment
- Read and interpret job orders, cut lists, and production specifications
- Perform machine setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting
- Conduct routine tool checks and changes to maintain quality standards
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Communicate machine issues or production delays to leadership promptly
- Assist with workflow efficiency and continuous improvement efforts
- Cross training is not an option, an open mindset for continuous training is a must
- Great attendance and being on time is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or woodworking environment preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand basic shop math
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and team-oriented
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull materials up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials
Work Environment:
Manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to some wood dust and machinery noise. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as, eye protection is a must.Pay:
