Machine Operator

JOB SUMMARY

Does the same functions as a Machine operator, but is trained to operate the roll-form lines. Produces a variety of parts by operating a variety of machines (brake presses, banding machine, punch presses, shears, saws, and other small hand tools ), loading and unloading parts, As directed by the lead person or supervisor to comply with the production schedule.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Must be able to read work orders.
• Must be able to read tape measure and gauges.
• Make periodic quality checks.
• Must be able to read drawings.
• Perform highly repetitive operations on machines and material handling on paint line.
• Maintain product quality standards.
• Must maintain production standards.
• Must be able to perform the roll-form set-ups / changeovers as needed.
• Must follow instruction as directed by team lead or supervisor.
• Must maintain work area clean and organized at all times.
• Must give accurate production reporting.
• Drive forklift if authorized.
• Perform lock out / tag out safety procedures.
• Perform other duties where needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have manual dexterity in both hands. Must be capable of bending and lifting 40-60 pounds. Must be capable of visually reading prints and work orders, tape measures and gauges. Must be capable of verbally communicating.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Must wear required safety equipment. Must always work in a safe manner. Must follow all safety rules and company procedures. Must maintain standards of appearance in work area at all time. Must inform management of any problems you feel need attention ( i.e. machine malfunctions, maintenance needs, raw material not available, defective steel, inability to meet required production , personnel problem, etc. )

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
