Paid Apprenticeship:
$19.00 an hour After completion of the Apprenticeship Program, the apprentice may be relocated to another Sumitomo location: Lufkin, TX; Glendale Heights, IL; Marine City MI, or Verona, VA.Benefits include:

As a CNC Apprentice, you'll engage in a range of tasks and training related to CNC and manual machining. This role aligns with Virginia's Registered Apprenticeship Program standards, covering areas such as Mechatronics Technician, Tool and Die Maker, and CNC Machinist. Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned): To succeed in this role, you must be able to perform the following essential functions, either independently or with reasonable accommodation: Acquire knowledge of departmental procedures, including machine operation, quality standards, and departmental goals. Learn blueprint reading, specifications interpretation, and mathematical concepts applicable to departmental tasks. Effectively communicate acquired knowledge through written assignments, interviews, and oral reports. Engage in assigned projects, either individual tasks to demonstrate proficiency or departmental projects for skill enhancement. Complete required coursework outside of regular work hours as mandated by the Program.Minimum Qualifications:

Duties are performed in an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist; bend; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
