Job Overview:

I am seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mail Carrier substitute for a mail route in Winston, OR. As a sub, you will be responsible for arriving at the post office by 9am to prepare the days mail and packages, then take it out for delivery to various locations. The position will be 1-2 days a week depending on the need. This position requires excellent driving skills and you will be required to provide a 3 year DMV driving record along with 2 sets of fingerprints. I will provide the vehicle. Training days we'll be paid at minimum wage until you're on your own on the route.

MUST HAVE BEEN A CARRIER PREVIOUSLY. THERE WILL BE MINIMAL TRAINING EXCEPT TO SHOW YOU THE ROUTE. THIS IS NOT A POST OFFICE POSITION AND YOU WILL BE WORKING FOR ME DIRECTLY AS THIS IS A CONTRACTED ROUTE.

Responsibilities:

• Case mail and sort packages before leaving on the route
• Safely operate a van provided by owner to deliver mail and packages
• Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
• Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Handle any customer inquiries or complaints promptly and effectively

Skills:

• Must work well under pressure, confident, and self motivated
• Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and loading/unloading of packages
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
