Job Description

Job Summary

K-Bay Air in beautiful Homer Alaska has a fleet of Cessna 206s on large tires and DHC-2 Beavers on floats. We are an on-demand 135 operator and primarily do seasonal tourism-related work performing beach landings, bear viewing tours, and sightseeing. Homer is a beautiful seaside town on the road system with lots of recreational opportunities.

Currently, we are looking to hire a year-round full-time mechanic. We offer a 4 day a week work schedule, Summers we work longer days and your schedule will include weekends (an example would be Fri.-Mon. on call in the mornings then working up to 10 hours in the afternoon/evening then off Tue, Wed &Thu) In the winter the work schedule is 32 hours a week 8 hours a day Tue-Fri. We would be open to discussing other schedule possibilities as well

Summer duties would primarily be doing 100-hour inspections and fixing squawks as they arise with secondary duties of moving/fueling planes and maintaining the hanger, dock and fueling facilities as time permits. During the winter we do heavy maintenance and fleet upgrades such as engine changes, interiors, component changes etc.

Compensation is $45-50 an hour depending on experience. we guarantee of 8 hours per day in June, July & August. We Have limited company housing available but feel free to inquire.

The successful candidate would be someone who takes pride in making the fleet a little better and enjoys being an essential part of the team. Must be able to work independently when required and take direction well.

Requirements

Job requirements:

A&P Mechanics certificate

Valid Drivers license

Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing

Must have a working cell phone able to call and text

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years experience working on either Cessna 206's or De-Havilland Beavers or similar makes

Inspection Authorization is a plus
