Job Summary
Ward Air, Inc. is a family-owned Part 135 on-demand air charter flight company located in Juneau, Alaska operating in southeast Alaska and western Canada since 1974.
Although most of our aircraft are on straight and amphibious floats, we also operate two wheel equipped aircraft.
Our current fleet includes 13 aircraft:
two DeHavilland turbine Otters with Garrett engines,
one DeHavilland turbine Beaver with a PT-6 engine,
three DeHavilland piston Beavers with R-985 engines,
one Cessna 207, and
three Cessna 206's.
We are seeking a full time, year-round Aircraft Mechanic to work in our shop. The position is in Juneau, Alaska and does not require regular travel.
Duties and responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to:
Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, work independently and as a team player,
Perform aircraft maintenance timely,
Complete required maintenance forms, computer entries, and logbook entries for work performed.
Perform efficient troubleshooting, scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, and repairs in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer's instructions, and company policies,
Follow all company policies and procedures,
Keep a clean and orderly work environment,
Perform job duties in a safe manner, and
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements and Skills:
A minimum of 1 year Part 135 maintenance experience working on like aircraft,
Airframe & Powerplant License,
Ability to work independently and as a team player,
Willingness to work overtime as required,
Ability to maintain accurate, legible, and timely paper and computer records,
Strong verbal and written communication skills with co-workers and government representatives,
Valid driver's license,
Ability to follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations,
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds,
Ability to successfully pass drug and alcohol screening tests,
Have a personal set of tools, and
High school or equivalent education (preferred).
