Updated 08/26/2026 Job Description Job Summary GossHawk Unlimited is a comprehensive aircraft restoration and maintenance facility specializing in the restoration and maintenance of warbird and vintage aircraft. Our work encompasses both propeller-driven and jet-powered aircraft, providing an exciting opportunity to work on unique and historically significant aircraft. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team in Casa Grande, Arizona. Position Overview As an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic at GossHawk Unlimited, you will have the opportunity to work on the rare Focke-Wulf Fw 190F-8 and
D-9 WWII
German fighters. This position involves traditional aircraft sheet metal fabrication, structural repair, and restoration work. You will work extensively with German manuals, hand-form parts, and reverse-engineer components from salvaged aircraft parts when original drawings and documentation are not available. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled sheet metal mechanic who enjoys challenging restoration work and takes pride in precision craftsmanship. Responsibilities Perform aircraft sheet metal fabrication, repair, installation, and modification. Inspect and repair aircraft structures and components in accordance with approved procedures. Fabricate and install sheet metal parts using appropriate hand and power tools. Hand-form and shape sheet metal components to precise specifications. Reverse-engineer components when drawings and technical documentation are unavailable. Work with German aircraft manuals and historical technical documentation. Collaborate closely with maintenance, restoration, and fabrication professionals. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all applicable safety procedures and quality standards. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Prior experience in aircraft sheet metal fabrication. Experience in hand-forming techniques. Ability to work with minimal or no drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to reverse-engineer and fabricate components from existing or salvaged parts. Ability to successfully complete a basic sheet metal evaluation. Physical ability to safely handle items weighing up to 50 pounds. Experience working on warbird or vintage aircraft is highly preferred. FAA Airframe certification is a plus, but not required.
