Updated 07/2026 Job Description Job Summary About SkyWest Looking for the next step in your Aircraft Maintenance career? As a SkyWest A&P Mechanic, you will be a part of a fast-paced environment full of variety that puts your talent to work on our growing fleet of aircraft. Plus, new mechanics in Milwaukee (MKE), Chicago (ORD) and Salt Lake City (SLC) qualify for a $10,000 bonus with a commitment to work in that location for at least three years. Those with military A&P experience are also eligible for an additional $7,500 bonus. This rewarding opportunity will help you gain new skills as you work nose-to-tail on our aircraft, belong to a world-class family of fellow mechanics, and have a crucial impact on the entire SkyWest operation. Primary Job Duties As an A&P mechanic, you will work on the entire aircraft and effectively troubleshoot our growing fleet of CRJ200, CRJ550, CRJ700, CRJ900, and E175 aircraft.
You will also:
Troubleshoot all aircraft systems Be responsible for making critical decisions regarding aircraft safety in a timely manner Be trained to perform all maintenance functions unsupervised, at any time Manage all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork Requirements Meet all FAA and Safety Requirements Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P Certificate Possess good troubleshooting skills Possess excellent communication and people skills Possess problem-solving and organizational skills Be willing to work a night/third shift position, including nights, weekends, and holidays Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment, as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
