Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to support operations at an Illinois facility. This is a highly deadline-driven production and maintenance environment requiring a candidate who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team while maintaining strong quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying aircraft avionics and electrical systems with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify aircraft avionics and electrical systems in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications

Perform avionics installations, upgrades, and modifications on corporate aircraft

Remove, install, terminate, and repair aircraft wiring, connectors, harnesses, antennas, and avionics components

Conduct operational checks, functional testing, and system troubleshooting using approved test equipment

Diagnose and resolve discrepancies involving communication, navigation, autopilot, flight guidance, weather radar, TCAS, EGPWS, and integrated cockpit systems

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals

Complete accurate maintenance documentation in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures

Meet production and maintenance deadlines while maintaining quality, safety, and airworthiness standards

Required Experience and Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of aircraft avionics experience

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings

Experience troubleshooting aircraft electrical and avionics systems

Proficiency using avionics test equipment, multimeters, continuity testers, and related diagnostic tools

Experience with wire routing, wire termination, connector repair, and harness fabrication

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

Business aviation experience preferred

Experience supporting corporate aircraft platforms such as Gulfstream, Challenger, Learjet, Citation, Hawker, Falcon, or Embraer aircraft

Experience with Honeywell, Collins Aerospace, Garmin, Universal, or Gogo systems preferred

Additional Requirements

Candidates must provide their own basic aviation hand tools necessary to perform job duties
