Position Type:
6 Month Contract to Hire Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to support operations at an Illinois facility. This is a highly deadline driven production environment requiring a candidate who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team while maintaining strong quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, reliable, and comfortable working with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Install and modify aircraft structures in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications Perform close tolerance drilling and structural assembly Drill, fit, and assemble aircraft components Fabricate parts per engineering drawings Remove and install fasteners and rivets Utilize aviation hand tools and pneumatic tools safely and effectively Meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards Required Experience and Qualifications Minimum 5 years of aircraft sheet metal experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience with close tolerance drilling Proficiency with aviation hand tools and sheet metal equipment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong ability to work both independently and within a team environment Preferred Qualifications Business aviation experience preferred Experience working on multiple aircraft platforms Additional Requirements Candidates must provide their own basic aircraft sheet metal tools necessary to perform job duties What We Offer at SkyBridge Aviation 6-month contract to hire opportunity with long term stability Weekly payroll after your first week of work W2 employment Overtime paid at time and a half when applicable (expected 60 hours/week) Opportunity to gain experience in advanced aircraft systems and aircraft modifications Fast paced aviation environment with consistent work Dedicated recruiting and onboarding support team Housing paid for!!
