F/A-18 Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic New Orleans, LA $35.89 - $48.07/Hour Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance We are hiring an F/A-18 Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic in New Orleans, LA to support Navy fighter aircraft maintenance operations, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification activities. This role requires experience supporting military fighter aircraft systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems, along with an active Secret Clearance and knowledge of Navy aviation maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities:
Assemble, disassemble, modify, and repair aircraft systems and components to correct failures or implement engineering changes Perform preflight, post-flight, through-flight, phase, and end-of-runway inspections Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems Configure aircraft and bench test equipment for maintenance and operational testing Conduct validation and verification testing of aircraft systems and repaired components Remove, install, align, adjust, and rig aircraft systems and components Perform aircraft operational checks and functional testing Interpret technical publications, maintenance manuals, and inspection findings to resolve maintenance discrepancies Inspect aircraft structures and components for tolerances, clearances, corrosion, installation accuracy, and flight worthiness Perform aircraft jacking, towing, lifting, combat turns, and hot pit refueling operations Operate and inspect powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment Review and maintain maintenance records, aircraft documentation, historical reports, and automated maintenance systems Support training activities and provide maintenance guidance to team members Ensure compliance with Navy maintenance procedures, contractual requirements, and quality standards
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience Active Secret Clearance required prior to start (interim acceptable) Minimum 5+ years of military fighter aircraft maintenance experience Minimum 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting technical publications and maintenance manuals Experience in troubleshooting and repairing aircraft mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
F/A-18 AM or AD experience/qualifications Experience with Navy 4790.2 maintenance requirements Prior experience supporting Navy aviation maintenance operations Applicable military or technical maintenance certifications/credentials Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
