Job Description
Job Summary
STS Line Maintenance is hiring A&P Mechanics in Newark, New Jersey, to support aircraft line maintenance operations at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
This opportunity is designed for experienced Aircraft Maintenance Professionals with a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification, Airbus A320 experience and at least two years of aircraft maintenance experience.
A&P Mechanics will support commercial and large regional aircraft while working closely with airline customers, flight crews and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers to keep aircraft safe, compliant and operational.
Position Overview
The A&P Mechanic supports the daily maintenance needs of STS Line Maintenance customers at EWR.
This position performs inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and component replacements on transport-category aircraft while ensuring all work complies with applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company procedures and approved technical documentation.
Schedule
Candidates must be available to work:
Three to four days per week
5 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Weekends and holidays as operational needs require
Responsibilities
Report to the Line Maintenance Station Manager and Station Leads
Work closely with airline customers, flight crews and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers
Maintain aircraft in accordance with applicable airworthiness standards and regulations
Follow airworthiness directives, company policies and established maintenance practices
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust and repair transport-category aircraft
Perform maintenance on aircraft airframes and engines
Use hand tools and test equipment to diagnose aircraft discrepancies
Adjust, repair or replace defective components based on inspection and test results
Follow aircraft maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks and technical documentation
Use precision instruments to measure components for wear
Determine repair or replacement requirements
Maintain high standards for quality, safety and integrity
Work outdoors and in inclement weather when required
Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned
Aircraft Experience
Work may be performed on commercial and large regional aircraft, including:
Airbus A320
Airbus A330
Boeing 737
Embraer 170
Embraer 190
Qualifications
Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification
No history of FAA certification infractions
At least two years of aircraft maintenance experience
Airbus A320 experience and training required
Must meet Tier 2 qualifications at minimum
Previous line maintenance experience on commercial or large regional aircraft strongly preferred
Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications
Ability to troubleshoot aircraft airframe and engine systems
Experience working with electrical, mechanical and hydraulic aircraft systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong customer service and communication skills
Basic to mid-level computer skills
Strong organizational skills
Must own a standard set of line maintenance tools
Ability to pass required background screening
Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
Ability to obtain required Customs and Border Protection clearance
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays when required
Calibrated and specialty tooling will be provided.

Rate of Pay
Starting pay ranges from $36 to $42 per hour based on experience and applicable tier qualifications.
