Clarificion from the agency This position is open to current members of the Oklahoma Air Nional Guard assigned to the 138th FW within the military grades of E-1 through E-5. Duties Help This position is loced in an Air Nional Guard Aviion Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Propulsion Element, (Jet Engine Intermedie Maintenance, (JEIM) and the Hush House). The primary purpose of this position is to certify acceptable performance, test, repair, trouble-shoot, operionally check and modify aircraft turbine and auxiliary power units, and associed propulsion system components.

DUTIES:

Troubleshoots malfunctioning engines and interreled propulsion system components, determines degree of disassembly or certificion required, repairs or replaces defective components, diagnostic computers and associed hardware. Analyzes malfunctions using schemic and wiring diagrams, blueprints, manufacturer's specificions, computer diagnostics da, inspection findings, trending da and aircrew debriefs. Performs engine run operion on installed and uninstalled engines to troubleshoot malfunctions or verify findings. Removes and installs engines and auxiliary power units. Operes, Automed Ground Test Systems (AGETS), trouble-shoots and repairs aircraft jet engines. Troubleshoots, modifies, repairs, and performs sequential disassembly and assembly of gearboxes and auxiliary power units. Performs evaluions th must be accomplished critical points in the repair/buildup process using a variety of quality characteristics, consisting of complete systems or components and assemblies th undergo many steps in a repair process and have highly critical tolerances. Performs test cell operion of engine and aircraft run up, analyzes opering parameters, makes final adjustments and verifies th engine is opering within acceptable parameters for safe operion in the aircraft. Performs scheduled and special evaluions on installed engines, auxiliary power units, and associed airframe-mounted systems. Interprets Engine Management trend da and investiges trend anomalies to elimine castrophic engine failure or damage by the prediction and detection of adverse trends towards known failure modes before they occur. Performs command directed and locally established in-progress inspections (IPI) (certifying acceptable performance of all conventional or modified aircraft engines prior to their being installed in the aircraft or placed in inventory) of propulsion system components and associed equipment to determine adequacy of workmanship, merials and maintenance. Makes final certificion of completed work and critical engine build measurements, annoting by signure th work and tolerances are correct. Certifies aircraft is safe for flight by Clearing Red X and other Red symbols. Requisitions, processes, and accounts for supply assets as required by the repairable processing system. Verifies compibility of engine components. Performs computer da entry of engine and component informion such as component locion, stus and tracking informion into the Core Automed Maintenance System (CAMS) for fighter aircraft, and G081, (CAMS for Mobility) for multi-engine transport aircraft. Uses computer-based systems to account for time expenditures of maintenance performed. Provides technical advice and troubleshooting expertise to other work centers when propulsion systems affect or are affected by interreled aircraft systems, such as: electro-environmental, pneudraulic, fuel and avionics systems. Provides on-the-job training to lower graded personnel or newly assigned personnel regardless of grade. Trains lower graded employees on proper certificion techniques of installed engine components. Provides instruction in repair and inspection techniques of aircraft engine components and reled equipment. Examines recurring malfunctions and inities corrective actions by submission of quality deficiency or software deficiency reports. Devises repair procedures based on findings and recommends program changes or da corrections to correct software or technical da deficiencies. Recommends revisions to intermedie maintenance directives when necessary. Serves as the hazardous merials manager as required. Interprets and follows ste and federal regulions regarding the reclamion, storage and transportion of hazardous merials. Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions such as Operional Readiness Inspections (ORI), Inspector General (IG) Inspections, Unit Effectiveness Inspections and mobility and command support exercises. Performs additional duties such as, hydrazine response, aircraft or equipment decontaminion, structural fire fighting, fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operor, maintenance of facilities and equipment, and assists local authorities during nural disasters or civil emergencies. : Experience or training th has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operions and make prescribed modificions to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specificions, procedures and requirements. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

: Experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operions and making prescribed modificions to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. This position requires knowledge and skill in the following areas to carry out work assignments: Knowledge in installing, removing, opering, and repairing a variety of conventional and modified aircraft engines and engine accessories systems on and off the aircraft. Knowledge and understanding of jet engine theory and the integrion of the jet engine with all aircraft systems to troubleshoot malfunctions and accomplish repairs. Knowledge and skill to opere a variety of test equipment, such as vibrion analyzers, air da simulors, engine monitoring computer, da transfer equipment, dynamic propeller balancing equipment, high pressure hydraulic test equipment, voltmeters and other precision measurement equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair aircraft engines on and off the aircraft. Skill and ability to interpret technical orders, manufacturer's calogs, blueprints and schemic drawings, to obtain the technical informion required to troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, assemble and trim engines. Knowledgeable in understanding and applying technical order da, principles and practices to verify th essential quality requirements have been met, identify problem areas and recommend corrective action. Knowledgeable in understanding and interpreting engine trending da, to determine defects and failure res on installed engines. Skill and knowledge to certify work in progress (IPIs) and upon completion, compare to required tolerances and specificions as identified in Technical Orders (TO)'s.
