Medcentrek LLC Medcentrek LLC is seeking an experienced Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to support Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Shipboard Mobile Support Equipment (SMSE) maintenance operations for the U.S. Navy in the Naval Base Kitsap area. The position supports approximately 276 pieces of equipment and requires skilled maintenance personnel capable of performing scheduled preventive maintenance, unscheduled repairs, inspections, equipment servicing, and related documentation in a high-tempo military environment. Key Responsibilities The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Navy MHE/SMSE, including servicing, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of unserviceable parts, assemblies, subassemblies, and components. Duties may also include minor structural repairs, fabrication of parts, equipment modifications, and configuration-control activities. The mechanic will perform maintenance in accordance with applicable maintenance requirement cards, technical manuals, Navy publications, local procedures, and OEM guidance. Personnel will document inspections and completed maintenance actions, support forklift safety weight certifications, inspect newly received equipment, assist with shipboard equipment evaluations, and support Navy fleet personnel through structured maintenance and repair training activities. Additional responsibilities include supporting corrosion control and preservation activities, identifying parts and material requirements, assisting with parts-room and inventory functions, maintaining maintenance records, reporting equipment deficiencies and safety concerns, and providing daily maintenance status updates through the appropriate contractor management chain. Equipment may include brands such as Bobcat, Doosan, Hyster, BP Rico, Lift King, Wesley, Toyota, Hyundai, Harlan, Broderson, Blue Giant, JLG, Sellick, TUG, Wiggins, Yale , and other MHE up to approximately 36,000 lbs. Required Qualifications Candidates must possess the mechanical skills and experience necessary to safely perform maintenance and repair of material handling, ground support, industrial, forklift, or comparable heavy equipment. Personnel must be properly trained and qualified for the equipment and maintenance processes associated with their assigned duties. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain all required equipment licenses and certifications associated with assigned duties. Personnel operating Government vehicles or equipment must be certified as fully qualified before operating the equipment, and no employee may operate support equipment without the proper training and license.

Candidates must also:

Be a U.S. citizen . Be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Tier 3 background investigation / Non-Critical Sensitive position and Common Access Card. Be able to successfully complete required fingerprinting and security-processing requirements before beginning performance. Be able to fluently read, speak, and understand English . Be able to meet applicable occupational physical requirements, which may include forklift physicals and vision examinations. Be able to comply with Navy safety requirements and properly use required personal protective equipment. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience maintaining forklifts, ground support equipment, material handling equipment, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, or military support equipment is strongly preferred. Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, engines, powertrains, brakes, steering systems, industrial vehicles, and equipment inspections is highly desirable. Prior military, Navy, shipyard, depot, aviation ground-support, or Government-contract experience is a plus. Commercial forklift licensing, weight-certification experience, or familiarity with NAVSUP maintenance procedures is also preferred. Work Environment Work will primarily be performed at NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound in Bremerton, Washington , with potential assignments at other military facilities in the Naval Base Kitsap/Puget Sound area, including Bangor, Everett, and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. The normal work schedule is a single shift, generally Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Pacific Time , subject to adjustment based on Government mission requirements.
