This position provides the chance to work on a variety of projects, apply your mechanical and electrical expertise, and support life safety solutions that protect communities. As an essential member of our service team, you will be trusted to deliver high-quality system design, diagnostics, and inspections with accuracy and professionalism. Duties Install, test, diagnose, and repair fire alarm systems, sensors, and other low-voltage electrical components in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to ensure precise installations and modifications. Perform construction inspections to confirm adherence to safety regulations and project requirements. Carry out routine maintenance and on-site service for fire alarm systems across multiple locations to maintain peak performance. Use hand tools, power tools, and testing devices to accurately install sensors, alarms, control panels, and wiring. Work closely with construction teams on new projects or renovations to integrate fire alarm systems effectively into building structures. Support fire sprinkler installation and mechanical integration when necessary for complete life safety solutions. Conduct system testing with specialized equipment to confirm proper sensor performance and alarm response; record results carefully. Offer technical guidance on system enhancements or upgrades; assist sales efforts through expert consultations. Ensure all tasks meet local codes (including NEC), industry standards, and safety guidelines while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Experience Demonstrated experience as a service technician or installer specializing in fire alarm systems or low-voltage electrical work. Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and CAD drawings related to fire alarm system installation and design. Practical experience in fire sprinkler installation, construction inspections, or mechanical trades is an advantage. Familiarity with sensors, control panels, alarms, power supplies, and other fire detection equipment. Solid electrical knowledge, including NEC-compliant wiring methods, with the ability to confidently interpret electrical schematics. Proven ability to safely handle hand and power tools while maintaining accuracy in installation work. Experience supporting sales for fire alarm or sprinkler systems is beneficial, particularly in advising clients on system improvements. Understanding of construction workflows and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams during installations or upgrades.
