Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented trainee to join our team as a Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Technician. This is a training position with the opportunity to become a state-certified technician within 4-6 months. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and committed to professional growth. During the training period, you will:

• Work under the supervision of a licensed technician.
• Learn inspection, service, recharging, and hydrostatic testing of fire extinguishers in compliance with California State Fire Marshal - Title 19 regulations.
• Be provided with a state study guide, practice exams, and hands-on instruction.
• Be expected to pass California State Fire Extinguisher Exams Types 1, 2, and 3 within 4-6 months. Minimum Qualifications
• 18 years or older
• Valid California Driver's License with a clean DMV record (minimal violations, no suspensions, no DUI)
• Ability to pass background checks for entry into state and government facilities
• Ability to: o Lift up to 65 lbs o Stand, walk, bend, climb ladders (6-12 ft) or stairs as needed o Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Mechanically inclined and able to use handheld small power tools
• Able to read and write in English; Spanish is a plus
• Willingness to take and pass practice exams and state certification exams within the training period Compensation & Benefits
• Pay increases upon successful completion of certification exams and probationary evaluation.
• Medical insurance: 50% Employer paid.
