Security Technician I Equiliem medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) United States, California, Irvine Aug 25, 2026 Job Summary The Security Technician I supports the installation, termination, and maintenance of low voltage security systems for commercial projects throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. This role works with security devices and infrastructure including cameras, access control systems, maglocks, card readers, low voltage cabling, and associated equipment. The position requires the ability to follow blueprints, maintain organized cable pathways, adhere to jobsite safety requirements, and work effectively with team members and management. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering continued industry training and career development. Job Responsibilities Install security systems, including cameras, maglocks, card readers, and access control devices. Install and terminate low voltage security cabling, including 22/4, 20/4, CAT5e, and CAT6. Terminate CAT5e and CAT6 cabling according to project specifications. Dress and route cabling from IT closets to device locations, including cameras, maglocks, card readers, and door schedulers. Assist with the buildout and organization of security equipment racks. Install cable pathways, including J-hooks and D-rings. Perform cable management, including dressing, routing, and labeling. Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and project documentation for installation requirements. Follow written and verbal instructions while communicating professionally with colleagues and management. Follow jobsite safety guidelines and protocols, including proper PPE use, jobsite cleanup, and OSHA requirements. Job Requirements 0-2 years of commercial security installation or related low voltage experience. Experience or familiarity with security systems, camera installation, and access control. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Active OSHA 10 certification preferred. Ability to work from ladders and scissor lifts and in confined spaces. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move materials or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand and work on your feet for the duration of the shift. Ability to read and follow blueprints and installation documentation. Must have reliable personal transportation for local project travel. Must provide basic hand tools, including a multi-bit screwdriver, tape measure, snips, needle-nose pliers, channel-lock pliers, punch-down tool, flashlight, tool pouch, gloves, and steel-toe or composite-toe work boots. Overtime may be required based on project needs. Work is performed at project sites throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.
