Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Systems Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repairs and installation of fire protection systems to ensure the safety and security of our customers' facilities. No prior experience in fire systems is required. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Service and maintain kitchen fire suppression systems in commercial settings
- Conduct field service visits to troubleshoot system issues
- Provide mechanical knowledge expertise for system installations
- Installation of commercial kitchen fire suppression systems
- Create and interpret CAD drawings and schematics for system layouts
- Perform inspections of fire suppression systems with fire department
- Stay up-to-date with manufacturer and state regulations
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, and the ability to use mobile-based service platforms to complete documentation, upload system reports, and submit photos from the field. Requirements
- Candidates must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals including restaurant owners, general managers, fire marshals and inspectors, project managers, internal team members and office staff.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient in fast-paced and dynamic construction site environments
- Experience in construction is a plus
- Strong background in service related fields
- Mechanical knowledge/aptitude for system installations
- Basic electrical knowledge/aptitude
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately
- Strong proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools/power tools and mechanical equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is a must
- Possess critical thinking skills
- Must possess excellent driving skills with a clean DMV record
- Pass the State Fire Extinguisher License Exam within the first 30 days of employment
