Full Time About the Role California Fire Detection is looking for an experienced Access Control Foreman to join our Fire Alarm & Safety Solutions team. This position will lead the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of access control and related life safety systems on commercial projects throughout the Bay Area. We are looking for someone who can lead a field crew while also being comfortable working hands-on with access control hardware, low-voltage wiring, controllers, readers, electronic locking systems, and system programming. Experience with Verkada access control and security systems is a plus. Responsibilities Lead and supervise access control and low-voltage crews Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot commercial access control systems Install and terminate low-voltage wiring and cabling Work with card readers, keypads, controllers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and related equipment Read and interpret blueprints, door schedules, access control drawings, and life safety plans Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, electricians, door hardware contractors, and other trades Troubleshoot system and installation issues in the field Assist with programming, commissioning, testing, and system integration Coordinate access control systems with fire alarm and other life safety systems Lead daily crew assignments and maintain project schedules Manage materials, tools, and equipment Train and mentor technicians and apprentices Maintain jobsite safety, organization, and quality standards Communicate field conditions, project progress, and issues to project management Assist with punch lists, commissioning, and project closeout Qualifications 5+ years of experience in access control, security, low-voltage, fire alarm, or a related field Previous foreman or lead technician experience preferred Strong understanding of commercial access control systems Experience with electronic locking hardware and door access systems Ability to read blueprints, door schedules, schematics, and low-voltage drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience programming or commissioning access control systems preferred Verkada experience is a plus Knowledge of fire alarm and life safety systems is a plus Comfortable leading a field crew and working independently Strong communication and organizational skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Compensation & Benefits $45-$65/hour based on experience Full-time position Full benefits Opportunities for advancement Stable work with an established Bay Area fire alarm and life safety company Opportunity to grow with a company specializing in fire alarm and safety solutions
