Job Description
SVI Trucks builds custom fire apparatus, including rescue trucks, hazmat units, command vehicles, fire engines, tanker trucks, law enforcement vehicles and more. Every truck that leaves the factory is truly one-of-a-kind thanks to innovative and meticulous construction. We are looking for an energetic, self-starting Fire Apparatus Designer for our Trucks division. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a trusted, well respected, family-owned business that is continually expanding. As a Fire Apparatus Designer, you will be responsible for designing component and body assemblies used in the manufacture of emergency response apparatus ranging from utility rescues to heavy rescues and fire engines. The fire apparatus designer will be required to proficiently design fire apparatus bodies and accessories utilizing 2D and 3D modeling software and publish construction documentation with Adobe Acrobat. The position requires on property work attendance. Occasionally individuals will be required to assist on the manufacturing floor and thus shall be capable of extended periods of standing, stooping, bending, and balancing. Individuals should have manual dexterity, fine manipulation, and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift-up to 50 pounds max. Use of ladders and rolling staircases included in equipment to complete job duties.
