Keep people protected. Chesapeake Fire Protection is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems. This is a hands-on field role for someone who takes pride in quality work, solving problems, and building strong customer relationships. 🛠️ What You'll Do Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes . Diagnose system issues and complete timely, accurate repairs. Program, configure, and verify fire alarm control panels and related devices. Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, compliance forms, and corrective action records. Communicate with customers about system status, repairs, deficiencies, and code compliance. Coordinate with Project Managers, Service Coordinators, and inspectors as needed. Maintain company tools, test equipment, and service vehicles. Follow all safety policies and job site requirements. Stay current on industry codes, technology, and certification requirements. Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service response . Perform other duties as assigned. ⭐ What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of fire alarm or life safety service experience preferred. Technical training or certifications preferred. NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification preferred or required based on state. Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes. Experience with fire alarm panels, devices, and testing equipment. Microsoft Office, smartphone, mobile service software, and basic computer skills. Familiarity with Notifier or equivalent systems preferred. Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service. 💪 The Job Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. Ability to work at heights and in occupied buildings. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Field-based work at commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties. Exposure to varying weather, noise, and electrical environments.
