Company Overview:
Tiello is partnered with a Fire & Life Safety contractor in their search for a Fire Alarm Technician . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems and a strong understanding of industry standards and codes. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of residential, commercial, and industrial properties through the proper installation of fire alarm systems.
Role Summary:
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining fire alarm systems. This individual will be responsible for installing, configuring, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting fire alarm systems while ensuring installations comply with NFPA codes, local building codes, and company standards.

Install, configure, and program fire alarm systems, including panels, detectors, pull stations, strobes, and related components. Conduct thorough system testing and ensure all installations meet NFPA codes, local building codes, and company standards. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents to determine equipment placement and wiring routes. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with fire alarm systems during installation or operation. Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and other team members to complete projects on schedule. Provide detailed installation documentation, including diagrams, system reports, and maintenance logs. Maintain tools and equipment and ensure they are ready for daily use. Stay current with advancements in fire alarm systems, safety regulations, and certification requirements. Communicate effectively with customers to explain system functionality and answer technical questions.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance. Proficiency with fire alarm brands and models such as Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, DMP, Notifier, Siemens, or similar systems. Background in low-voltage electrical systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and industry standards for fire alarm systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools, power tools, and software relevant to fire alarm system installations. Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in various conditions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. NICET Level I certification required at minimum; higher levels preferred. Experience with integrated fire protection and life safety systems is preferred. Additional certifications such as FAST and OSHA safety training are preferred.
