Full-Time About Us Central Alarm Signal has over fifty years of experience providing premium onsite installation and maintenance services for low-voltage security and fire alarm systems. We work with both commercial and residential clients throughout Southeast Michigan to deliver peace of mind. We take pride in our work and are looking for a technician who shares our commitment to client satisfaction, technical expertise, and troubleshooting excellence. What You Will Do (Responsibilities) As a Field Service Technician, your day-to-day activities will include:
System Integration:
Install and integrate residential and commercial security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, biometrics, and related low-voltage systems.
Testing & Inspection:
Perform routine system testing, troubleshooting, and verification to prevent malfunctions and ensure code compliance.
Customer Support:
Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system operations clearly to clients.
Asset Maintenance:
Maintain your assigned company vehicle, tools, and inventory in clean, working order.
Documentation:
Complete service tickets and required paperwork accurately and on time.
Compliance:
Maintain a firm grasp of local and national codes (NFPA 72, NEC) and regulations.
Teamwork:
Maintain good communication and collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members.
On-Call Rotation:
Participate in a rotational after-hours and weekend emergency call schedule. What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)
Experience:
2+ years of hands-on industry experience in low-voltage security or fire alarm systems.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
License:
Current, valid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record.
Screening:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. Certifications (Preferred but not required): Michigan Fire Alarm Specialty Technician (FAST) license or NICET Level II certification.
