Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and technically skilled Technology & Security Systems Technician to support security technology and equipment across MDOC sites throughout Michigan. This position will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing security system issues, installing and configuring equipment, maintaining accurate equipment records, and providing on-site technical support. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with computers and technology, has strong attention to detail, communicates well with others, and is willing to travel to various locations locally around Michigan. Key Responsibilities Travel to MDOC sites throughout Michigan to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues with security systems. Configure and install security equipment at MDOC facilities. Identify and resolve technology and equipment issues in a timely manner. Add, track, and update QR codes on equipment. Maintain and update equipment information within database software. Manage and distribute attic stock equipment as needed, including daily and emergency deliveries. Drive equipment from the warehouse to owner sites as required. Create, update, and distribute facility binders and related documentation. Communicate professionally with facility personnel, team members, and other stakeholders. Follow established security, safety, and facility procedures. Required Qualifications & Skills Comfortable working with computers and technology systems. Ability to identify and work with IP addresses. Experience with AutoCAD. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently. Ability and willingness to travel locally within Michigan. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to successfully pass a background check and lien clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with the software and technology associated with: Security camera systems Wireless access points Ethernet switches Network-connected security equipment Experience with these systems is preferred but not required. Training can be provided to candidates who demonstrate strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Compensation & Benefits $22.00-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience. Travel & Work Requirements This position requires regular travel to MDOC facilities throughout Michigan. The technician may be required to transport equipment from the warehouse to various sites and respond to equipment needs on a daily or emergency basis. Background Requirements Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the required background check and lien clearance.
