Installation Technician Company Vehicle Provided Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Installation Technician to install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial security systems throughout customer locations. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on security or low-voltage professional with experience working with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, cabling, and related security technologies. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, customer-focused, comfortable troubleshooting independently, and able to work safely in commercial and industrial environments. What You'll Do as an
Installation Technician:
As an Installation Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring security systems are properly installed, programmed, tested, maintained, and repaired. You'll work directly with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members to complete projects according to company standards and manufacturer specifications.
Installation Technician Duties Include:
Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and other security systems Wiring power supplies, card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, relays, and related security components Performing basic programming, adding users, configuring schedules, and troubleshooting system functionality Installing and servicing CCTV and IP video surveillance systems Troubleshooting hardware, wiring, programming, and system functionality issues Communicating with manufacturers and vendors to resolve technical issues when necessary Performing preventative maintenance, routine inspections, testing, and system repairs Running low-voltage cabling through commercial and industrial environments Reading and following installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and site plans Creating wire pathways through walls, ceilings, floors, joists, and studs Mounting and installing security devices and equipment properly Working with power supplies, relays, low-voltage circuits, and other electrical components Safely using hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolds, and lifts Providing professional customer service and maintaining positive relationships with customers and project partners Supporting projects from initial site preparation through installation, testing, troubleshooting, and final completion Participating in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service requests, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Traveling as needed based on project requirements, including occasional overnight or extended travel
What We're Looking For:
Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining access control systems required Experience with commercial security systems, including CCTV/IP video surveillance and intrusion detection/alarm systems required Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience running low-voltage cabling in commercial or industrial environments Ability to read and interpret installation drawings, schematics, and site plans Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and software components used in security systems Experience working with power supplies, relays, and low-voltage circuits Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools Previous commercial construction or low-voltage installation experience preferred Experience working with multiple security manufacturers and platforms preferred Experience operating lifts and working at elevated heights preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Professionalism, accountability, and a safety-focused mindset Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials Comfortable with frequent bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and working from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts at heights exceeding 30 feet Ability and willingness to travel as project needs require
