You'll inspect damage, repair or replace panels, straighten structure, weld, finish metal, and prep for paint so the vehicle leaves the shop safe, aligned, and looking right. Responsibilities Inspect vehicles, document damage, and follow the repair plan / estimate (CCC or equivalent). Straighten frames and unibody structures with hydraulic equipment and measuring systems. Remove, repair, or replace body panels, bumpers, doors, fenders, and trim.

Perform metal finishing:

hammer, fill, grind, and sand to restore original contours. Weld and bond (MIG, spot weld, structural adhesives) per OEM procedures. Align panels for correct gaps, fit, and symmetry. Prep repaired surfaces for paint (sand, mask, prime). Paint/refinish is typically a separate role unless the shop combines them. Reinstall glass, lights, trim, and hardware after body work. Follow OEM repair procedures, I-CAR / shop quality standards, and insurance requirements. Keep the stall, tools, and vehicle clean; protect interiors and undamaged areas. Document work, parts used, and time; flag extras or hidden damage promptly. Work safely with PPE, respirators, and shop equipment; follow OSHA and shop rules. Communicate with the estimator, painter, and manager on progress and hold-ups. Assist teammates as needed and keep tools and equipment in working order. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 2+ years collision / auto body experience preferred (strong apprentices considered). Technical training or certificate in collision repair a plus. I-CAR and/or ASE Collision Repair certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Proficiency with MIG/spot welding, panel replacement, filler, and measuring systems. Ability to read estimates, OEM procedures, and measuring printouts. Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Own basic hand tools; shop provides specialty equipment. Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to ~50 lbs regularly. Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to hit cycle times without sacrificing quality. Preferred Experience with aluminum, high-strength steel, and ADAS-related structural repairs. Familiarity with CCC ONE / Mitchell / similar estimating software. Experience across domestic and import vehicles.

Pay:

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
