Duties Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural realignment using advanced welding techniques such as MIG welding and soldering. Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to restore damaged vehicles efficiently and accurately. Conduct automotive cosmetic repairs such as auto painting, auto restoration, and automotive body refinishing to achieve a high-quality finish. Install automotive parts including auto glass, bumpers, and other components while ensuring proper fitment and alignment. Apply fabrication repair techniques for sheet metal work and custom fabrication projects to meet specific repair needs. Use auto estimating skills to assess damage, prepare repair plans, and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair scope. Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks and perform heavy lifting as necessary to support the repair process. Requirements Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or independent shop. Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, auto body repair, and automotive cosmetic repair techniques. Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and fabrication using automotive welding equipment. Familiarity with sheet metal work, auto painting processes including airless paint spraying, and automotive parts installation. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive repair procedures. Experience with auto estimating software and customer service skills for effective communication with clients. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and other workshop equipment safely and efficiently. Physical ability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various environmental conditions.
