Job Description
Auto Body / Fabrication Technician — Multiple Positions Available HM Auto - Williamsburg, Iowa Area Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM | No Weekends HM Auto is a family-owned automotive repair and auto body shop located just outside of Williamsburg, Iowa. We are looking to add multiple people to our body shop . We do a wide variety of automotive work including bodywork, restoration, sheet metal, fabrication, MIG, TIG and laser welding, paint and prep, assembly, mechanical work, and custom builds. We're not necessarily looking for someone who has been doing this for 20 years. Experience is great, but we're just as interested in finding people who actually want to do this kind of work, enjoy building things, have a passion for cars, take pride in their work, and want to continue getting better at what they do. Experience We're Interested In You don't need to know how to do everything on this list. If you have experience or ability in one or more of these areas, we'd like to hear from you: Auto body repair and bodywork Sheet metal work Rust repair and panel replacement MIG, TIG, or laser welding Custom fabrication Automotive paint and paint prep Vehicle disassembly and assembly Restoration and custom-car work Mechanical and general automotive repair Custom cars, hot rods, muscle cars, trucks, racing, or other automotive projects Professional shop experience isn't the only experience that counts. If you've built or restored your own vehicles, fabricated parts, welded, painted, raced cars, or have other serious hands-on automotive experience, tell us about it. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Shows up and is dependable Wants to work and stays productive Has some hands-on automotive, body, welding, or fabrication ability Has a genuine interest in cars and building things Takes pride in doing quality work Pays attention to detail Can take direction and learn by doing Is willing to ask questions when they don't know something Wants to continue improving their skills Works well with others Takes care of tools, equipment, and the shop Can work independently without needing someone standing over them all day We're not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone with some hands-on ability, common sense, and a willingness to learn. You need to be able to pay attention to how things are done, take direction, ask questions when needed, and continue developing your skills. Experienced body technicians, fabricators, painters, and restoration technicians are also encouraged to apply.
