Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic / Auto Body Shop Helper to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this role, you will assist experienced mechanics and auto body technicians in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. Responsibilities Assist with vehicle repairs including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, and tire services using hand tools and power tools. Support mechanics in diagnosing automotive electrical systems, transmission issues, and engine problems utilizing schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Help with auto body repairs such as dent removal, panel replacement, welding, and auto estimating tasks to ensure high-quality finishes. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling tools, equipment, and vehicle parts. Follow safety protocols when working with heavy equipment mechanics, welding equipment, or during vehicle lifting procedures involving shocks & struts or suspension components. Aid in vehicle maintenance tasks such as wheel alignments, oil changes, fluid top-offs, and general mechanical system repairs. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs on GM vehicles and other makes while providing excellent customer service. Skills Proven dealership experience or background working within the automotive repair industry is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive suspension systems, powertrain components, transmissions, brakes, and diesel engines. Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, schematics reading, and automotive diagnostics tools. Experience working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery used in auto body repair. Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brake systems, tire service including shocks & struts installation & repair. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately for complex repairs involving diesel mechanics or automotive electrical systems. Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive attitude toward vehicle maintenance and repair excellence.
