Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as an Auto Body Prepper and play a vital role in preparing vehicles for repair and refinishing. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for surface preparation, masking, sanding, and ensuring all vehicles meet our high standards before painting and finishing. Duties Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion Mask off areas of vehicles using surface preparation masking techniques to protect non-painted surfaces Operate hand tools, grinders, sanders, and power tools safely and efficiently during surface prep processes Assist with auto body repair tasks such as minor dent removal and panel alignment as needed Apply automotive buffing techniques to achieve smooth, high-quality finishes on vehicle surfaces Use spray guns for painting and coating applications, including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying methods Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials according to safety standards Requirements Dealership or automotive repair shop experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is valued Basic welding skills and mechanical knowledge are highly advantageous Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, sanders, buffing equipment, and power tools used in auto body prep Knowledge of automotive surface preparation, masking techniques, sanding, and auto painting processes Experience with auto restoration or auto body refinishing is a plus Ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship Commitment to safety practices including the use of respiratory protection when working with paints or chemicals Join us in delivering top-tier auto body refinishing services!
