Job Overview Join our dynamic collision repair team as a Collision Body Shop Helper! The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a professional collision repair environment, basic mechanical knowledge, and their own set of automotive tools. This is a hands-on position supporting our collision repair technicians with vehicle disassemby, reassembly, parts removal and installation, mechanical components, and general collision repair operations. This is a not an entry-level or trainee position. Previous collision repair experience is required. Duties Assist with vehicle disassembly, reassembly, and detailing to prepare cars for repair or delivery Support automotive technicians with auto body repairs, including sanding, sanding tools, and automotive cosmetic repair techniques Aid in the installation of automotive parts, auto glass, and other components during collision repairs Support vehicle maintenance activities including auto painting, auto restoration, and auto body refinishing processes Perform heavy lifting and assist with the movement of vehicles or parts around the shop to ensure smooth workflow Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling tools like sanding tools, fabrication tools, and other shop equipment Follow safety procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines Previous dealership experience or hands-on work in an automotive body shop is highly preferred Familiarity with MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques is advantageous Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and automotive structural repair processes is beneficial Experience working with hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive parts installation enhances your fit for this role Knowledge of auto body repair procedures such as auto painting, auto restoration, and automotive cosmetic repair Customer service skills are valued for interactions with clients or team members regarding vehicle status or repairs Prior experience in auto estimating or auto repair shops involving heavy lifting or working as an automotive body technician is a strong asset Required Qualifications 1+ years of collision repair experience Experience working alongside body technicians Mechanical repair or automotive maintenance experience Experience with vehicle teardown and reassembly Own professional automotive tools required Experience working in an independent body shop or collision repair facility Ability to follow repair instructions and work in a fast-paced collision repair environment Valid drivers license Strong attention to detail Reliable and dependable
